Jakarta, Indonesia — Alpha JWC Ventures portfolio company Ajaib Group has secured a US$270 million strategic investment from SBI Holdings, one of Japan’s leading financial services groups. The transaction represents the largest funding round for an Indonesian technology company since 2022, bringing Ajaib’s total capital raised since its founding in 2019 to more than US$500 million.

Through the investment, SBI Holdings has acquired a 20% stake in Ajaib Group, establishing a strategic partnership between the two companies to accelerate the development of digital financial services and financial infrastructure across Asia.

From Investment Platform to Digital Financial Ecosystem

Founded in 2019 by Anderson Sumarli, Ajaib began as an online investment platform focused on making financial markets more accessible to Indonesian retail investors.

The company has since expanded into a multi-asset financial platform serving millions of customers, providing access to domestic and international equities, bonds, mutual funds, exchange-traded funds (ETFs), cryptocurrencies, stablecoins, commodities, and foreign exchange.

Beyond investment products, Ajaib has expanded into payments and savings services, as well as over-the-counter stablecoin settlement solutions for corporate and institutional clients.

This evolution reflects Ajaib’s broader ambition to build an integrated financial ecosystem connecting traditional financial services with emerging digital asset technologies.

Strategic Partnership to Advance Digital Finance in Asia

The investment brings together Ajaib’s established customer base and market presence in Indonesia with SBI Holdings’ extensive financial services and digital asset ecosystem.

SBI Group operates across securities, banking, asset management, and digital assets, with investments and operations spanning Japan and international markets.

The partnership is expected to support the development of next-generation financial infrastructure, including tokenized assets, stablecoins, and blockchain-based financial services.

It also creates opportunities for collaboration in digital asset distribution, financial product development, and cross-border financial services as both companies seek to expand their presence across Asia.

Supporting Indonesia’s Next Phase of Digital Growth

The investment comes at a significant time for Indonesia’s technology sector, demonstrating continued international investor interest in the country’s digital economy.

Ajaib plans to allocate the new capital across its business operations in Southeast Asia, including further investment in technology development, product innovation, and talent acquisition.

The company has also emphasized its commitment to expanding its Indonesian workforce and supporting the development of local technology capabilities.

As Ajaib enters its next phase of growth, the strategic partnership with SBI Holdings positions the company to contribute to the development of modern financial services and digital asset infrastructure across Indonesia and the wider Asian market.
